On July 26, 2025, North Horizon hosted its annual Summer Picnic at the Toronto Zoo, bringing together employees and their families for a thoughtfully planned gathering that combined engagement, learning, and community support. Reflecting on North Horizon’s ongoing commitment to foster connection while promoting education through a family-friendly setting.
Guided by North Horizon’s core values of collaboration and social responsibility, this year’s Summer Picnic extended beyond a traditional employee appreciation event. It also served as a platform to support community health care through a live auction fundraising initiative.
The live auction was the highlight of the day, featuring a selection of donated valuable items to bid on. North Horizon was honoured to welcome guests from Kensington Health Hospital, sharing a committed value in advancing patient care and community well-being. Proceeds from the auction will go towards funding essential medical equipment for Kensington Health Hospital.

Funds raised will support the acquisition of ceiling lifts, vital signs monitors, and gel therapeutic mattresses for The Gardens at Kensington Health, a long-term care home serving 350 residents across Ontario. These critical pieces of equipment are essential to maintaining safe, high-quality care. Ceiling lifts provide a safer and more efficient method of transferring residents with mobility challenges, benefiting both residents and caregivers. Vital signs monitors allow clinical staff to accurately track key health indicators, supporting timely clinical decision-making and risk management. Gel therapeutic mattresses enhance resident comfort while aiding in the prevention and treatment of pressure injuries.
Through this initiative, North Horizon is pleased to contribute directly to the enhancement of patient care infrastructure within the community. The 2025 Summer Picnic exemplified how employee engagement initiatives can also serve as meaningful opportunities to support community partners and strengthen long-term social impact.
